O Asiático, a simple name for a contemporary restaurant.
O Asiático quite simply.
In this contemporary and cosmopolitan restaurant, it is the flavours of Asia that tickle the taste buds. From China, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam, chef Francisco Martins, known as “Kiko”, has brought back exotic dishes that offer a real journey into this culinary universe that is so different for a Westerner.
The atmosphere is…Zen. How could it be otherwise? However, we are spared the decoration codes with the lit signals “attention here we are in Asia”.
The room – the rooms – are soberly decorated: minimalism is de rigueur and the design is refined.
An interior garden – closed in winter – allows you to refresh yourself on beautiful summer evenings. The posters on the walls also remind us of Japanese garden art.
O Asiático is ideally located between Principe Real and Bairro Alto.
O Asiático is thought as a restaurant able to please people used to travel as well as those who want to be surprised on a different evening.
It starts with a cocktail menu, short but which is a good start to prepare the palate and at lisbonne-affinités.com you can taste the Matcha Mule: sake, lime, matcha and mint…for a tangy result.
The 5 starters are classic (Dim Sun of King crab) or more surprising, like the ceviche of Laos with tuna, tiger milk, coconut, tapioca and chestnut purée. Or the carpaccio of wagyu (Japanese beef) with a nice outfit.
For the dishes of O Asiático, refinement of flavours and blends.
A very nice Pad Thai of prawns and Katsobushi (peanuts).
As a dessert lisbonne-affinités.com suggests, on the advice of the waiters, to taste the Mount Fuji: nice dessert well structured and with subtle flavors.
O Asiático suggests to accompany the Lisbon wines A Cevicheria, from the quinta do Monte d’Oiro (Lisbon wines) .
O Asiático is a friendly hipster.
Service at this restaurant is impeccable, efficient and dedicated. You can trust on the explanations of the waiters and maître de tables: the originality of Chef Kiko’s dishes means that you must follow the expert advice of professionals.
